Columbus

Its still a little hard to believe that my family and I are living in Columbus. We're not here for a weekend visit, we're not here for a couple of weeks, we're here. We live here. Wow.

This time one month ago our life got tipped upside down as we learned that Blinn had been offered the job and we'd be moving so, so soon. Over the last week Blinn and I have said that its felt like a weird time warp since moving in on May 1st. Has it really only been a few days since we unloaded that Uhaul and got settled into this apartment? It feels like we've been here much longer. There's a lot to get re-used to about life in the city and there are lots of things to discover as we venture out as a family of three. It feels good to be here, but still just a little surreal.

Today Z and I went out for what we thought was going to be a short walk to the Clintonville Community Market. I mapped it, its only 0.8 miles from our house - sweet! Unfortunately, the route between here and there was under construction so our walk turned into a two-hour long adventure of Clintonville and really, it was kinda great! We found the market, we hit up Giant Eagle, Goodwill and CVS and when we got home, it was dinner time! My girl had fun pointing out every dog and cat in the neighborhood and she brought smiles to strangers faces with her incessant "Hi! Hi! Hi!" and Miss America wave. She's great. I like going out on the town with her.  :)

There are many things about our BG life that I already miss and I guess that's sort of normal. One day I hope to live in a town and not miss another town, but truly embrace where I'm at in the moment and enjoy it fully. I'm making strides to do that now. Columbus, the Blinns are back and you're gonna love us!
