August

August is Ohio is, without fail, miserably hot, humid and dry. Pretty much the only thing I had to look forward about it growing up was my birthday and going back to school. Yeah, I was the dorky type that enjoyed going back to school. Shopping for new clothes and school supplies, are you kidding me? A dream come true for this girl!

But, I digress...

The weather this August however, has been phenomenal. Yesterday the fam and I enjoyed a morning at home basking in the just-warm-enough sun and being chilled by the steady breeze. We wore pants, hoodies, even socks. It was fabulous and the hint of fall we needed to be reminded of the season that's coming. Low humidity, manageable heat, refreshing breezes... its been lovely. There's even been a thunder storm or two, but the ground is still very dry everywhere. Oh well, some things don't change I guess.

I suppose I don't have a real reason to write today, but it feels good to be pounding out some words here anyway. I tend to blog about special times, certain events, but want to be more intentional about writing amidst the normal times too. This morning I got to sleep in just a little while Baby Girl and Papa did their thing together. When Papa left for work, I took it easy and got a few things done at home before packing things up to spend time at the library. We took the bus again, Z loves it. She doesn't love it more than books right now though - that girl is obsessed with "a-boou?" and I love that about her! She gets so many compliments when we're on the bus or out on the town. My insides nearly bubble over with excitement, pride and giddiness, but on the outside I just show a smile and good manners. Damn straight, she's beautiful and sweet and smart! Oh wait... I would never say that out loud... I think!

Zachari's napping, Miles is cozied up in his crate, the windows are open and I can hear Elpida's wind chime outside. Soon we'll head over to Bekah's to play in the pool with her, Aaron and his family and then we'll all share dinner together. I like this day and I'm thankful that this is my job.
