64 King

On Saturday the fam and I had the unexpected pleasure of spending a few hours at 64 King. Amy sent Blinn a text hoping we were free at the last minute and as it turned out, we were! What we thought might be a quick pop in to say hello, turned into a few hours of potentially groundbreaking discussion and healing.

Really good.

I expected the first time back to the house to be really emotional, heavy, but it wasn't like that at all. Aside from choking up as we parked the car and started to get out, I wasn't sad or angry or anything. There was peace there and I was happy that that was the case. The house has been repainted, there's very minimal furniture in it and the whole feel of it is just different. It was nice to spend time with Amy (and Micah when he was in between computer games) and to just have a relaxing afternoon in a place that holds so much meaning for Blinn and me and our story together.

Sometimes I really miss life in The Short North. Saturday was one of those times.
