I've been sitting down for about five minutes. Today has been full and thankfully, its been full of good things and great people, but I'm spent. Blinn is working late, I had to tackle bed time with two kids on my own, the dishes were piled in the sink, there are two loads of laundry waiting on the landing that need to be hauled upstairs, the second floor of this house is every kind of atrocious, but I need to sit. Sara Groves' Jesus, You're Beautiful is playing and its my soft-spoken prayer on this chilly, rainy night.

As I was nursing J this morning and Z was finishing up her meal at the table, this song came on and blessed me immensely. I had never heard it before, but since then, I think I've listend to it five times. Its a lovely, innocent, sweet little tune that I hope to memorize and sing to my Jesus for years to come.

The parts that are italicized are my emphasis - lines that struck me and remind me of what a merciful, loving, compassionate Jesus I have the privilege to know.

Jesus, bright as the morning star
Jesus, how can I tell you
How beautiful you are to me
Jesus, song that the angels sing
Jesus, dearer to my heart
Than anything
Sweeter than springtime
Purer than sunshine
Ever my song will be
Jesus, You're beautiful to me

Jesus, bright as the morning star
Jesus, how can I tell you
How beautiful you are to me
My Jesus, song that the angels sing
Jesus, dearer to my heart
Than anything
Sweeter than spring time
Purer than sunshine
Ever my song will be
Jesus, You're beautiful to me...

Sweeter than springtime
Purer than sunshine
Ever my song will be
Jesus, You're beautiful to me
