Jonathan: 8 months

Oh. My. Gosh. 
Son, you are a knockout! 
We hear it all the time. 
We think it all the time. 
But Love, you are so handsome and this photo shows it. Your blue-for-days eyes, your dark, curly-only-on-top hair, your tan skin, your dimples, your charming and bubbly personality. What a catch you'll be for one lucky lady someday. (Not for a LONG time, of course!) The last month of your life has been FULL of changes and new developments! You keep your Papa, Zachari and I on our toes and with each week that passes, we are more and more amazed at how different you are from your big sis at this age, but what fun! Since last month here's what you've been up to...

• On July 31st and August 2nd you slept for eight straight hours each! No, not a full eight hours in the middle of the night, but I'll take what I can get. Hooray for you... and for me!
• August 7th: You transitioned from being on all fours to sitting up followed by official crawling on August 8th!
• August 10th was the wedding of your Uncle Michael to your now-Aunt Kellie. We spent the night before the wedding in a hotel and you did great in our temporary home away from home. 
• On my birthday we lowered your crib, something we probably should've done a few weeks earlier due to your new skill - pulling yourself up! Y
• August 13th: Standing in your crib. Uh oh!
• New foods you've tried in the last month: bananas, mashed potatoes, blueberries, green beans, applesauce, roasted red pepper hummus, oatmeal, black beans, butternut squash.
• You're waving now, Lovey! Its so cute... though you only do it every once in a while and really no one knows its a wave but me. 
• You pull yourself up on anything that sits still for more than a minute. 
• Zachari's been really into making "castles" in the middle of the living room floor with all of our pillows and the couch cushions. You have your own fun with the castles too - you climb up onto the cushions, but haven't quite figured out how to get down without toppling over onto your face. 
• When you want more food, you grunt and reach for it.
• When I show you the sign for "more" you giggle, but have yet to actually make the sign yourself. 
• Sometimes you drink from an open cup and do better with that than a sippy at times. 
• When you want something - a toy, some food, me - you do this cute little whimper-cry that is precious. 
• In the last few days you've decided that waking 2-3 times a night to nurse is cool. Lemme tell ya - it ain't!
• You can often be seen off in the corner with a toy in your mouth and you just yank and yank on that thing! I have to think a tooth is trying to make its way through your gums, but I said that about Sister for a long time before she got teeth so what do I know?!
• August 28th: A nine hour stretch of sleep! Again, it was after a nighttime nursing, but who cares? That was amazing, Babe!
• You aaaaaarch your back to get out of your carseat nowadays. Its not your fave place to be, but you tolerate it. If we don't get you out in what you think is fast enough? Then you lose your cool and all hell breaks loose! I don't blame ya, I'd want out of there too.
• In the bathtub you are in.sane. Its exhausting to bathe you some nights because you're constantly on the go and getting into things you shouldn't get into. You're so different from your big sister in almost every way and I love that about you. Bath time is no exception to that rule either. 

You are so fun, Jonathan and I'm incredibly thankful for the addition of your great personality to the Blinn fam. What will the next month of your little life hold? I'm excited to find out. Love you, Buddy!
