Belated anniversary date

Our fourth wedding anniversary came and went without a real celebration because 90% of our house was packed and we were preparing to load a moving truck the next day. Our dear friends the Bells remembered our special day though and mailed us a card which included a gift card to Northstar Cafe which we were more than thrilled to finally put to use on Saturday night!

Northstar is our favorite restaurant in all of Columbus... and this town's got lots of places to eat! The original one in The Short North is our favorite location. We fell in love in that place, we spent many meals with loved ones in that place, it was our go-to any time we didn't know where else to eat. It was really great to be able to dine there over the weekend and know that we just live a few minutes away from it again.

California's Cabinet Riesling for moi, Columbia Valley Pitch Cabernet for the boy.

Sweet Basil Burrito
Rotisserie roasted chicken with creamy pesto, sauteed veggies and brown rice
served with Northstar's salsa & tortilla chips.

Rotisserie Roasted Chicken & Avocado Sandwich
topped with aged white cheddar, fresh arugula, roasted red peppers,
and Italian aioli on a lightly toasted brioche bun served with the Northstar Simple Salad.

We finally experienced Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams together. Holy amazin', that stuff is GOOD! And how adorable is the shop?

Blinn's on right: Bourbon Butter Pecan & Dark Coffee
Oh. My. Gosh.
I love being out with my husband and walking arm in arm, hand in hand, smoochin' it up for all the world to see that we're together and in love. As much as I love my sweet daughter, I didn't miss her Saturday night. I knew she was safe with her grandparents and probably having a ball so I relaxed all evening long and enjoyed life like it was pre-babes. After our time downtown we got to celebrate 30 years of life for another dear friend, Aaron MacCaughey. I shared a bottle of wine with Kristen, got to have lots of good conversations, ate more tasty food and just before midnight Blinn and I realized we'd better get home so the 'rents could get home. I was sad to leave the par-tay, but our own little par-tay continued late into the night. (I'm blushing a little as I type that, but this is my blog and I will record what I want... even if it is a little touche!)
