What a great day! This morning we met Kristina, Annabelle and Ollie at Goodale Park and the weather could not have been more gorgeous. Really, its the first of November? This 65˚ weather rocks! Before meeting our friends Z and I stopped at Tim Horton's for sandwiches and well, the girl thoroughly enjoyed hers!

How cute is her scrunched nose?!

My absolute favorite of the day. Zachari LOVES her friend "A-belle"!
After we parted from our friends we had an impromptu Mama-Daughter date at Cup O Joe in Short North. We probably should've headed home for an afternoon rest, but I didn't want to waste what felt like a bonus day of warmth and sunshine. We scored a table out on the edge of the sidewalk where there was a lot to see. I savored a Vanilla-Hazelnut coffee while Z sipped her water. If she has something in a cup with a straw while Mama or Papa drink their special drinks she feels special too. Its pretty cute.

And how cute is her scrunched nose?
My favorite part of the whole day was when Z started to get drowsy and wanted to nurse. In that moment as we sat in the sun sharing what is probably the most intimate bond between a mother and child, it dawned on me: I really love nursing my baby in public. No, not because I enjoy attention from it or because I just like to whip out my boobs for all to see. Its because I feel like I'm making a statement, taking a stand and letting everyone in on how amazing the female body truly is. Not everyone can or chooses to breastfeed, that's fine. Not everyone is comfortable seeing someone nurse in public or nursing in public themselves, that's fine. But for me and for this little girl, we're all about it. We've perfected discretion, efficiency, and intimacy amidst even the most crowded and noisy places. I'm so thankful for the gift of nursing my babe. I'm so thankful for her sweet life.
